A Finished Work Part 2

Complete projects are something that give us a sense of satisfaction. The Bible says that God completed the creation of this earth in just 6 literal days. (Genesis 1-2:3) Friend, the good news is that He is actually re-creating you and I so that we are ready to go home to heaven with Him.

We get this understanding from a verse found in 2 Corinthians 5:17, and Philippians 1:6.

"Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new."

and Philippians 1:6 says:

"Being confident of this very thing, that he which hath begun a good work in you will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ:"

Before God began His work of creation on this earth, the earth was "without form and void" (Genesis 1:2) So in our lives, before we allow Jesus into our hearts, we are the same. When Christ comes into our hearts, He begins His work of transformation.

Now here is a really neat fact. What happened at the end of the creation of this world? God rested.

Well friends, the good news is, that as you abide in Him, Christ is re-creating you to be a new creation, and when He returns to this earth, the work that He has done in us will be completed! What's just as incredible, is that the Seventh-Day Sabbath is a constant reminder to you and I of God's ability to complete a work that He starts. Let us rest in His love! I like how the Bible puts it:

" The Lord thy God in the midst of thee is mighty; he will save, he will rejoice over thee with joy; he will rest in his love, he will joy over thee with singing." Zephaniah 3:17
