Senior Speaker

Pastor Vic Van Schaik was born and raised in Huber Heights, Ohio. After graduating from high school he went off to college to study Industrial Engineering at Georgia Tech in Atlanta. During the last two years of school, God worked dramatically in his life. He gave his heart to Christ and began to get involved in young-adult ministry in the local church. Around this time the Lord led him to his future wife, Angela. She was born in Honduras, Central America, where she was adopted by a missionary family. The two of them met at a Christian College and were married two years later. While working as an engineer at International Paper in Clinton, Iowa, he felt a call to pastoral ministry. In 1991 he and Angela moved to Berrien Springs, Michigan where he studied at Andrews Theological Seminary. Pastor Vic has served as pastor for more than twenty-two years in churches located in Davenport, Iowa and Cape Girardeau and St. Louis Missouri. In 2009 he completed the Doctor of Ministry from Andrews University where he gave special focus to Biblical principles of Christian Leadership. In July 2014 he and his family moved from St. Louis, MO to begin serving as pastor of the Cicero Seventh-day Adventist Church.

Pastor Vic enjoys reading, lap swimming, spending time with his wife and two children, and telling others about the love of Christ. He knows that the merciful God who changed his life is willing and able to do the same for all those who are open to His leading. Pastor Vic believes that all are important to God and have been gifted through the Holy Spirit with unique talents and gifts to be used to further God's work on earth.
