There is something about completing a project that gives a person a sense of satisfaction. A couple of days ago I was working on polishing block, and stacking them. First the block surface had to be ground, and then that surface had to be blown off with an air hose. Finally, the block was stacked to the side where it would be polished. The polishing then dried and the block were stacked back in place. This project took a lot of time and energy, but it was worth it when I thought about the end result. From this finished end, came satisfaction of a job well done. I can't help but think that I was getting a small taste of how Jesus felt after creating this earth in 6 days. We pick up the story right after God has created this earth. Everything is in place. Notice verse one and two.
"(1) Thus the heavens and the earth were finished, and all the host of them. (2) And on the seventh day God ended his work which he had made; and he rested on the seventh day from all his work which he had made. (3) And God blessed the seventh day, and sanctified it: because that in it he had rested from all his work which God created and made. " KJV
Did you catch that? God rested after His finished work, and then He did something incredible to the capstone of creation. He blessed, and sanctified the seventh day. Now, as a result every seventh day we can rest from all our labors and take time to enjoy the finished work of God's creation. We can be thankful that we were created and be thankful to our Creator. We need that reminder don't we? We were not some mistake or accident in the universe, we were planned! We are special to our Creator and Heavenly Father. We belong to Him. Let us rejoice in His love in creating us!
"Remember now your Creator in the days of your youth,
Before the difficult days come,
And the years draw near when you say,
“I have no pleasure in them”:"
